WIA using Windows ME or Windows XP and later OS. In general, when a device supports both TWAIN and WIA, TWAIN is better for scanners and WIA is better for acquiring images from cameras and video devices. Not all devices come with TWAIN support.

Write cache

enable / disable
Sometimes this term is found in the phrase 'write behind caching'. Today's devices in the computer as a microprocessor, hard drive, optical disk drives and the like, which require high throughput, have in the BIOS or the operating system to handle the possibility of adjusting data during read and write. Each of these devices has a fast SRAM buffer type in which they entered the required information, and some of the information about him on the assumption that they will consider one of the following information will be requested from the environment just read. In this way does not have to re-read the disc, but only the contents of the cache buffer and the reading of data is significantly accelerated. The problem can occur when when saving data to disk, the data is not saved immediately but later when they are more costly in the cache. If that moment comes to a halt work computer or power failure losing all the facilities that have not arrived enroll. This option to 'cache' is useful when saving off unless a quality server that has a 'smart' UPS device that is connected to it in a way that is mutually 'agreed ' that everything will be properly extinguish before the UPS batteries are 'leaking out'.
