Alienware logo You have some money. Did you buy a 'laptop' or 'desktop' computer? It depends on the job you are dealing with and where you stay the longest. If you travel often or you are a 'ship's rat' then the most suitable for you is a 'laptop'. He has everything but is limited by energy and size. If you are a 'home cat' the better solution is a 'desktop' computer that can be great at will. I suppose users of the type 'ship's rat' also have a 'desktop' computer at home. So 'desktop', is more comfortable especially when it comes to choice periphery. I've thought about what a 'Desktop PC' as an end user purchased if you did not have to torture by assembling computers and budget. Of course, it would be one default configuration in which one could 'push in' everything your heart desires.

Their prices range from $600 - $6000, from 'Gamers on a Budget' to 'Hard-core Gamers and Intensive Creative Work'. Of course without peripherals. I also look an iMAC computer, although it does not really belong directly to the PC family of computers. As the products from year to year change as socks, namely every year a new series of products, this is what you are reading now refers to year 2018, and may or may not necessarily be any different in the coming months. In the configuration selection, two components are crucial: CPU and GPU. Furthermore are listed only by key characteristics of the most powerful representatives of individual series of microprocessors, which means it is available even among versions.

CPU

GPU

These are the leading companies in these segments, though they were once more, but big and powerful companies just bought them to get their patents quickly and easily. There are a lot of computer and computer accessories manufacturers, but I am most impressed with PC from series 'ALIENWARE' of DELL companie, shown in the next image.

The above figure shows the configuration with 'Alienware Area-51 R5 Intel' case and 'Alienware 34" Curved Gaming' monitor. There are five different cases with Intel CPU and nVIDIA GPU (SLI), and 5 cases with AMD CPU and nVIDIA GPU (SLI). As the components and the number of them is different, price range is $1900 / $5000 with an initial weight of 28 kg, and it can be arranged with the vendor how much and which components will be additionally installed, so price and weight increase. The present type of curved monitor is offered with resolutions 'WFHD 2560x1080@160 Hz' and 'WQHD 3440x1440@120 Hz', weighs decent 11.86 kg with price of $850 / $1150. Another $100 for the Alienware keyboard and $100 for the Alienware mouse. It would be nice to have something like this, so that you envy the whole city area. And what you can incorporate in the case best illustrated collection of next Figures.

AMD graphics card intended for installation when using a motherboard designed for their CPU and its chipset x399. So the competition between the mentioned CPU and GPU manufacturers is present - for same case. But my choice is configuration with Intel X-Series microprocessor (XEON microprocessor, socket LGA 2066, without integrated graphics) and nVIDIA graphics card. The reason is my bad experience with AMD graphic controllers, and Intel is cheaper. In addition, more water will flow as long as the operating systems and software learn to use so many cores.

The motherboard is a standard ATX size. It is unique only by supporting XEON processors with the LGA 2066 socket and no special chips for any other purpose, except for 7.1 audio support and network connectivity. Keep it big enough and ventilation is done efficiently. On the side of the PCI-e7 slot there are enough space to accommodate up to four graphics cards. Thus, the number of microprocessor corridors (lanes) increased to 44. Impresses a small and efficient 'water' cooling system.

 Alienware motherboard
Figure 3.5 Motherboard of a computer.

Four SATA connection provide support for disc devices. There are two USB 2.0 ports and two USB 3.0 ports for expansion. One M2 slot serves as a WI-FI extension, and another for SSD, which can be Intel's 'Optane' memory product. Non-ECC DRAM support indicates that this computer is not designed to be a professional server.

In addition to the motherboard, there are also two smaller printed boards that support the I/O connectors on the front of the computer and the rear I/O connectors.

 Connectors at Alienware motherboard
Figure 3.6 Connectors on the back of the motherboard.

Depending on which model of the computer was purchased, the content and appearance of these additional I/O printed boards are different. Two AA batteries are taken care of for case lighting, which should be changed if necessary. Power source depending on the purchased configuration can be 650 W and 1500 W.

SUMMARY:

The most basic of this product is described. The additions are still there, but there is no need to describe them. If you are fortunate enough to own such a computer, you probably are a happy user, as I would like to have something similar on the desk. How is AMD currently in advantage over Intel, regarding processor performance with a more investment can take one of the 'Alienware Area-51 R6 AMD' series of computers that use the processor 'AMD Ryzen Threadripper 1950X' with graphical system 'Dual Liquid Cooled NVIDIA GeForce 1080 - SLI' or 'Triple AMD Radeon RX 580 - Crossfire'. Thus, the range of configurations can be very diverse.

What for 'Gamers on a Budget'? Maybe something like this.
