CCN - Crazy, Confused, Normal - Part One

At the first moment the user remains completely confused by the various versions of the Windows 10 operating system; understands nothing and wondered who is crazy here? However, it is quite normal that different group of users have different view of maintenance of the operating system. In the same way do not understand it home user and system-engineer of sizeable company. Microsoft has updated its servicing model. The Semi-Annual Channel is a twice-per-year feature update release targeting March and September, and 18-month servicing timelines for each release. The Semi-Annual Channel replaces the Current Branch (CB) and Current Branch for Business (CBB) concepts starting July 2017 with Windows 10, version 1703. 'Windows Update for Business' deferral policies based on broad deployment readiness should be calculated from that date.

With each Semi-Annual Channel release, we recommend beginning deployment right away to 'targeted' devices and ramp up to full deployment at your discretion. The fact that the compatibility for older software is very poor, single versions are mutually incompatible, servicing of individual versions is too short, the oldest version too quickly abolishes, very bad self-maintenance, and a number of other failures suggest that the essential 'Windows 10' is unstable operating system (opinion of the author of this site). RTM* - Release To Manufacturing - Abbreviation for the version of a software product that is given to manufacturers as the initial total package (bundle) of program support for their future versions of hardware products. The Windows 10 operating system introduces a new way to build, deploy, and service Windows: Windows as a service. Microsoft has reimagined each part of the process, to simplify the lives of IT professionals and maintain a consistent Windows 10 experience for its customers. Overview of Windows as a service is:

• Building - Prior to Windows 10, Microsoft released new versions of Windows every few years. Windows as a service will deliver smaller feature updates two to three times per year to help address these issues.
  
  
• Deploying - Deploying Windows 10 is simpler than with previous versions of Windows. One of the biggest challenges for organizations when it comes to deploying a new version of Windows is compatibility testing. Windows 10 is compatible with most hardware and software capable of running on Windows 7 or later.
  
  
• Application compatibility - Application compatibility testing has historically been a burden when approaching a Windows deployment or upgrade. For the most important business-critical applications, organizations should still perform testing on a regular basis to validate compatibility with new builds.
  
  
• Device compatibility - Device compatibility in Windows 10 is also very strong; new hardware is not needed for Windows 10 as any device capable of running Windows 7 or later can run Windows 10. In fact, the minimum hardware requirements to run Windows 10 are the same as those required for Windows 7. Most hardware drivers that functioned in Windows 8.1, Windows 8, or Windows 7 will continue to function in Windows 10. Normally, when essentially all 'fired' from the same 'kitchen'.
  
  
• Servicing - Traditional Windows servicing has included several release types: major revisions, service packs, and monthly updates. With Windows 10, organizations will need to change the way they approach deploying updates. Servicing branches are the first way to separate users into deployment groups for feature and quality updates.
  
  
• Feature updates - With Windows 10, Microsoft will package new features into feature updates that can be deployed using existing management tools. Feature updates are delivered more frequently than with previous Windows releases - two to three times per year rather than every 3-5 years.
  
  
• Quality updates - Monthly updates in previous Windows versions were often overwhelming because of the sheer number of updates available each month. In Windows 10, rather than receiving several updates each month and trying to figure out which the organization needs, which ultimately causes platform fragmentation, administrators will see one cumulative monthly update that supersedes the previous month’s update, containing both security and nonsecurity fixes.
  
  
• Servicing branches - Microsoft offers three servicing branches for Windows 10: Current Branch (CB), Current Branch for Business (CBB), and Long-Term Servicing Branch (LTSB). In addition, the 'Windows Insider' Program provides IT professionals and other interested parties with prerelease Windows builds that they can test and ultimately provide feedback on to Microsoft.
  
  
• Current Branch - In the CB servicing model, feature updates are available as soon as Microsoft releases them. Win10_1511 had few servicing tool options to delay CB feature updates, limiting the use of the CB servicing branch. Win10_1607, however, includes more servicing tools that can delay CB feature updates for up to 180 days.
  
  
• Current Branch for Business - Windows 10 clients in the CBB servicing branch receive the same build of Windows 10 as those in the CB servicing branch, just at a later time. CB releases are transitioned to CBB after about 4 months, indicating that Microsoft, independent software vendors (ISVs), partners, and customers believe that the release is ready for broad deployment.
  
  
• Long-Term Servicing Branch - Specialized systems-such as PCs that control medical equipment, point-of-sale systems, and ATMs-often require a longer servicing option because of their purpose. The LTSB servicing model prevents Windows 10 Enterprise LTSB devices from receiving the usual feature updates and provides only quality updates to ensure that device security stays up to date. LTSB is available only in the Windows 10 Enterprise edition.
  
  
• Windows Insider - For many IT professionals, gaining visibility into feature updates early-before they’re available to the CB servicing branch-can be both intriguing and valuable for future end user communications as well as provide additional prestaging for CB machines.Microsoft recommends that all organizations have at least a few PCs enrolled in the 'Windows Insider' Program and provide feedback on any issues they encounter.
  
  
• Servicing tools - There are many tools with which IT professionals can service Windows as a service. Each option has its professionals and cons, ranging from capabilities and control to simplicity and low administrative requirements, like: Windows Update, Windows Update for Business, WSUS, Configuration Manager.
  

For Windows as a service, maintenance is ongoing and iterative. Deploying previous versions of Windows required organizations to build sets of users to roll out the changes in phases. Typically, these users ranged (in order) from the most adaptable and least risky to the least adaptable or riskiest. With Windows 10, a similar methodology exists, but construction of the groups is a little different. Deployment rings in Windows 10 are similar to the deployment groups most organizations constructed for previous major revision upgrades. Defining deployment rings is generally a one-time event (or at least infrequent), but IT should revisit these groups to ensure that the sequencing is still correct. Also, there are times in which client computers could move between different deployment rings when necessary. Example of the deployment rings you might use is shown in next table.

In this example, there are no rings made up of the Long-Term Servicing Branch (LTSB). The LTSB servicing branch does not receive feature updates. Deployment rings will likely rarely change for an organization, but they should be periodically assessed to ensure that the deployment cadence still makes sense. It should be a normal sequence of events.

The pages that follow apply to mere mortals, and describe how to maintain the health of the Windows 10 operating system. So, it is a branch of CB service and selection ring of wishes chooses. • Ban to check the digital signature of the driver (Code signing for device drivers -> ENABLED).

Why is the 'restore' option prohibited? Therefore, do not pushing everything on system disks automatically. For partitions [C:] and [D:] the partition image is captured with the 'GHOST' software, and partition data at [E:] and [F:] are simply copied to the external drive. And 'Cloud' or NAS can also be used.

Every second Tuesday of the month, and sometimes in other days if necessary, Microsoft releases updates for the operating system. According to my, updates should improve the general state of the OS (x86 and x64 versions), any correction of errors (bugs) or adding new features, particularly with regard to new types of hardware. Even more so are publicly stated that this is the last version of OS in a variety of 'Windows' products. Upgrading is done directly from the operating system, if it is enabled for automatic update, or by downloading the .ISO file using the software 'MediaCreationTool.exe', whose icon is displayed at the beginning of this paragraph. The software is free and can be downloaded from Microsoft's sites, or a license for the installation must be purchased. The following instructions can be in other language, depending on the locality. But older versions of Windows 10 operating system can no longer be downloaded, only the latest version. But older versions of Windows 10 operating system can no longer be downloaded in 2023, only the latest version. Microsoft has essentially stopped support for the Windows 10 operating system. Therefore, the description of this tool has been removed from these pages.

It was about time, because sticking with multiple versions of the operating system that overlap, and never one of them is completed properly, is beyond stupid. This is confirmed by the release of Windows 11, which has no described nebulae. In the previous pages of this chapter, the author of these pages predicted that.

SUMMARY:

Microsoft updates do not stain with glory since a while - especially those bigger Windows 10 updates. Almost no multi media application on 'DirectShow' base runs without any problems anymore. Subsequently I found that no webcam is not working properly, as well as the TWAIN scanner. Well gentlemen from Microsoft, for what you serve 'Compatibility Mode'? For make-up? So when we all complain about forcing Windows 10 operating system by Microsoft and make jokes on account of its quality and usability, and here's my converted contributions of works that I've seen on the Internet.

It is clear that the Windows OS and its software will never be as 'Maya', an application used to generate 3D assets for use in film, television, game development and architecture. The software was initially released for the IRIX operating system (Unix). Microsoft Windows 10 by its particularities, as it is now, it is not even close to its knees. Or maybe the whole development of Windows 10 is still in diapers (pampers), so take time to stop to pee?

Still hint of for the end. When applying all available restrictions, moving folders, 'cleaning' and the like, it is possible that cumulative update can not be installed.
