4.5. WINDOWS 7 Operating System

The successor to Windows XP family of Microsoft's operating systems for personal computers is the Windows Vista operating system, which supports a lot of new technology in comparison with its predecessor. Windows Vista is an introduction to the next operating system Windows 7, which are basically the development of its predecessor. The following Figure is just a reminder to the initial menu of Windows Vista operating system, which can be seen that the functions of the control and programming menu system inherited from XP combined in one window, and on the right side of the desktop can be set 'toys' (Gadget) in a separate menu (sidebar). The successor to Windows XP operating system has an advance in functionality and design, and progress has its price in demanding computing resources. 'Vista' operating system is distributed in four versions: Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, Ultimate (source Microsoft). The windows have Aero (glass) peculiarity, that allows the transparency of the windows in all versions except the basic (Home Basic). • The growth of mobile computing - Laptops of all kinds taken an increasing share of the market due to lower prices and friendly hardware features. This requires a more economical and efficient operation of the operating system, enhanced security and ease of use.
• Multiple connectivity options - Permanent connection to the Internet users and services, regardless of whether it comes to wired or wireless connection point between the ease of realizing any of the options to preserve security.
• More computers per household - More and more households have multiple computers, for which it is necessary to provide internal network connectivity and easy data exchange, or putting data on the availability of all the family.
• The increasing role of the media - Music, video, TV, pictures, and much like the more content on the web imposes a requirement for being easier to locate content of this type and their availability. In addition, the need arises their simple distribution to other devices such as a wireless headset for listening to music, film to another device, and the like.
• The rapid development of Web - Searching the Internet is certainly one of the most widespread activities of users. Pervasive Internet services, such as Internet banking, looking from the computer system high resistance against intruders, malware or any other forms of abuse.

Windows 7 operating system is available at the following editions:

• Starter - The basic version, without any advanced features with limited functionality.
• Home Basic - Basic home version without supported 'aero' characteristics, (window transparency).
• Home Premium - Includes 'aero' uniqueness, support for the 'home network', support for advanced wireless networking, multimedia content and availability of support for various media formats and DVD content creation, support for touch screens and advanced handwriting recognition.
• Professional - Includes all previous opportunities, along with joining the domain, network resource availability and presentation mode. Supports the 'Windows XP Mode' as a separate category of compatibility for older software. Drafting system security features (backup) is more versatile.
• Ultimate - Includes all features Professional version, with the added encryption on internal and external drives, multilingual capabilities, choosing one of 35 languages for work without subsequent installations, 'DirectAccess' remote PC access based on IPSec security communication standard with support for VPN, and directly run the operating system installed in the VHD file. Available all the features of Windows 7 operating system.

The first two editions are specific per adjustment for the limited hardware resources, and are not available in the free market. The descriptions that follow refer to the 32-bit editions of 'Beta' (build 7000), 'RC' (build 7100) and 'RTM' (build 7600) version of the Ultimate editions of the operating system.
